Step out of your Comfort Zone!
Sure you can ride your road bike, but how are you on the rough trails? You’re a shoe in to win your local 5K, but how are you on a seven mile trail run? You can paddle, but can you swim? How about laying that bike way over in a corner, elbow to elbow with other riders on a short track criterium race? Wanna Tri? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, then the River Towns Race Series is for you!
The River Towns Race Series (RTRS) is a group of race organizers that are working together to give racers the ultimate season-long, cross-discipline race experience!
In 2008 we are proud to announce three new races! A new 5K. A new MARATHON. And a new MULTI-DAY adventure race that will surely push all competitors to their absolute limits. Click HERE to check out the entire schedule of 2008 events

Weighted scoring
Travel factor - As to not favor the local racers, racers from out of town are given a “travel factor” to make things more even. If a racer lives outside of a 50-mile radius of the River towns race location, then the racer’s score is multiplied by a factor of 1.5. This is a significant score equalizer.
Difficulty factor - Each race is given a difficulty rating between 1 and 11 (because 1 - 10 is boring). The participants’ score is multiplied by this factor as part of the total.
Scoring example:
Event place difficulty travel factor Total
Humdinger 2nd=8pts X 5 X 1.5 = 60pts.
